Claude’s current product guidance says Slides turns on by default for Enterprise on 15 October 2026, except in HIPAA-enabled organizations. Existing access and administrator controls still matter. This is a practical reason to check a complete presentation workflow now, rather than judging a deck only by its preview.
A deck can look finished while every slide is a flat image. If you need to change wording or figures later, make editability part of the request. Start with the story rather than asking for a polished file immediately.
Approve the outline
For a fictional five-minute workshop on organising a shared folder, request six slides: purpose, current problem, naming rule, example, responsibilities and next step. Supply the actual facts and mark missing details. Ask for the outline first so you can remove a slide that does not serve the audience.
Start from the Slides template in the Artifacts tab or request a deck in a conversation. Claude’s help documents PowerPoint and PDF export. If you need to revise the deck later, request PowerPoint and check its objects after download; PDF is useful for a fixed handout. Artifacts also require the account or organization’s cloud code execution and file creation capability.
Ask for editable elements
Specify editable text, useful speaker notes and a clear source for factual claims. Distinguish a diagram you can revise from a picture of a diagram. Avoid filling every slide with the entire script.
Inspect the downloaded deck
Open the file in the presentation program you will use. Change one heading, move one object and check fonts, text overflow and links. Then rehearse the talk at normal pace. A six-slide request does not guarantee a five-minute presentation; the spoken explanation and transitions determine the actual duration.
