Passkey
A cryptographic sign-in credential used instead of a reusable password.
Synchronisation
Keeping a working collection aligned across devices, including changes and sometimes deletions.
Backup
A recoverable copy or history kept for when the working version is lost or damaged.
NAS
Network-attached storage: a system that makes files available over a network.
Latency
The delay involved in communication. It is different from how much data a connection carries.
HTTPS
HTTP carried over a TLS-protected connection. Connection protection is separate from trusting the content.
DNS
A distributed naming system used to look up records associated with domain names.
