Claude’s platform release notes mark inference hooks generally available on October 20, 2026. They let a Claude Enterprise organization allow or deny governed requests before inference through its configured service. This is not a feature of every personal subscription or every Claude API deployment.
Identify the source of the stop
Keep the displayed denial reason and the time of the attempt. Ask the organization’s administrator which approved workflow applies. Do not repeatedly rephrase the same material to evade an organizational decision or assume a model upgrade will resolve it.
The documented verdict is allow or deny: hooks do not rewrite or redact the prompt. Only owners with the required organization permission configure them. File inspection has documented limits, so the presence of a hook is not a guarantee that every attachment was fully inspected.
Resume through the approved path
Use an authorized sample to distinguish a policy decision from an unrelated connection failure. After the permitted correction, check that the task actually resumes. Report the organization’s control accurately without promising universal compliance or complete coverage.
Hooks receive extracted attachment text, not raw file or image bytes. Platform API organizations, Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud are outside this documented availability.
