The Wi-Fi symbol can appear before a hotel's sign-in is finished. On iPhone or iPad, selecting a captive network can open its login screen; the network's details also offer Join Network. Joining the radio network and completing its welcome page are separate steps.
Confirm the network first
Ask the reception desk for the exact network name and whether a room code, account or payment is required. A nearby network with a convincing name is not confirmation that it belongs to the hotel.
Open Wi-Fi settings, select the confirmed network and wait for the welcome screen. If needed, open that network's information and choose Join Network. Follow the hotel's stated procedure. Do not treat a request for information that reception never mentioned as routine simply because it appears on a login page.
If the page still does not appear
Write down what happens: the screen stays blank, the code is rejected, or the login succeeds but websites do not load. These are different problems. Give reception the device type, the confirmed network name and the exact message rather than a photograph containing your password.
Avoid repeatedly submitting the same form, installing an unfamiliar certificate or dismissing a certificate warning to force progress. If the network needs attention, ask its operator to fix it. Files needed immediately are easier to use when you have already saved an offline copy before travelling.
