A recording app captures your voice, but nobody hears you in the meeting. That is a useful clue: at least one recording setup works. The meeting app may have selected another microphone, or it may lack permission to use the intended one.
Open the meeting app’s audio settings and choose your microphone. Say a short test phrase and watch the input meter. Check the mute button in the app and any physical switch on your headset. Change one setting at a time, then repeat the same test.
In Windows 11, look under Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone. Check the relevant app permission. Desktop applications use a shared access setting here, rather than individual switches for each app. A meeting in a browser may also need permission for that particular website. These controls do different jobs; enabling every switch is not a useful diagnosis.
A successful local recording does not prove that sound reaches the meeting. Use the app’s test-call feature if available, or arrange a brief private call with someone willing to help. Once it works, remove any temporary permissions you no longer need, while keeping those required for your chosen meeting setup.
